Granular urea, containing 46% nitrogen, is a solid nitrogen fertilizer with the highest nitrogen content among all solid fertilizers. It is produced from ammonia and carbon dioxide. Granular urea can be applied on its own or easily mixed with phosphate and/or potash fertilizers, often as part of a complete NPK (nitrogen, phosphate, and potash) plant food blend.
As a granular product, urea is suitable for direct soil application using conventional spreading equipment. It is the most widely used form of nitrogen fertilizer globally.
